Sacred Spaces
Blessings for Beings and Environments
3. Purification:
Sanctifying the home
|
The meaning of Purification
Negative actions can leave disruptive traces or "stains"
that pollute our lives. Healing rituals (Trul, Damdrip Nyepa
Kunsel and Varjasattva) for purification of the individual
and home / environments are performed to clear
non-productive or negative energies, repair our bonds with
our true nature while inviting powerful positive forces to
enhance all aspects of life. Participants can recognize and
correct whatever faulty actions, misunderstandings or wrong
views that have occurred. The all-accomplishing Nampar Jompa
mantra is often highlighted in this rite of inner and outer
purification.

The Practice of Purification
The Lamas being requested to perform this activity will
chose the needed liturgy and accumulate the recitations
necessary. Purifying substances are burned, poured and
or imbibed and a blessing proclamation (Ka go) can sometimes
be required. The practice is done for the sponsors and
on behalf of all beings and a\can also be done to bless and
purify the home, land and environment in general.
