In the Vajrayana Buddhist
tradition Lamas receive training in several manners
including for example receiving wangs, oral transmissions
and authorizations, formal lectures and guided practices and
retreats to name a few. In the Ngakpa tradition it can
be said that in fact a high percentage of the Ngakpa's
training does not come through texts but instead from
following along and assisting with the daily religious
responsibilities of his or her teacher / mentor. In
order to preserve the unbroken true skillful means and
wisdom lineages of Ngakpa traditions it is essential to
establish an apprenticeship system that can allow
westerners to join in this ancient process of learning by
doing in service to the community and all beings. Some may
even be bold enough to say that it cannot be done without
this system remaining in tact.
Study Apprenticeships
will soon be launched at Evam Mingyur Ling Ngakdra
Labrang's main center in Nepal. The program will
commence after the completion of the first residential
buildings at the center which are under construction.

Before this period, and for those who already have training
and background in the profound Dunjom Tersar lineage,
wishing to embark on an apprentice relation will now have
opportunities to assist Lama Rangbar directly during pujas
performed in the USA and Canada in 2007.
Similar opportunities will
also soon become available in Nepal for those wishing to
travel to Nepal and reside there for some months.
Those who fit the above
criteria wishing to join in such assistance to the Lama can
contact Lama Rangbar directly for a dialogue on the subject
